Save the Dates - Yes, You Should Send Them!

Stationery for your wedding may not be the first thing you think about when planning your Big Day. But it should be! You want as many of your loved ones there when you profess your love for each other, right? So why not let them know in advance as many details as you can? This and the other reasons below are why you should not forgo a save the date!

Time to Plan
Giving your guests advance notice of your wedding via a save the date allows your guests time to plan. I recommend sending save the dates 6-9 months before your wedding which allows your family and friends plenty of time to mark it on their calendar and book flights and hotel rooms if needed. Just imagine how cool a magnet or postcard would look on their fridge for a daily reminder that they are about to attend the best wedding of the year!

Set the Tone
Save the dates are the first glimpse into your wedding. Are you having a casual wedding or more formal affair? How about a destination wedding? Your save the date is a great place to let people know the location of your wedding along with {obviously} the date! They will also be able to plan for what they should wear. For example, they'll know if they need a cocktail dress/suit and tie, beachwear, or a pair of khakis & dress shirt/casual dress for the outdoors.

Tell Your Love Story
Do you have a unique love story? Or do you just want to make sure your guests know how you met and how much you love one another? Your save the dates can be designed to take your guests on a trip from your first date to your first kiss to your amazing engagement!

Let People See Your Beautiful Faces
I'm guessing you spent a good amount of money on engagement pictures, right? You didn't have those taken just to have pictures of the two of you hanging all over your home, did you? Most people take engagement pictures to use on their save the dates! This works out well for those guests that may not have had the pleasure of meeting your significant other yet. I can design for using just one photo or a collage of many if you can't choose just one!

Did I convince you to send out save the dates after all? If so, contact me so we can setup a consultation to go over all of the options from magnets to postcard to a 2 sided piece in an envelope {ample photo usage}.
