Why Tara's Designs?

Because you get to work with me and I am here for YOU! When it comes to customer service and getting you a product you can be proud of, trusting a small business is a great choice.

Isn't custom design expensive?

You may think that, but it doesn't have to be. To me, custom means getting what you want! I am here to change every font, design color, wording, and more until you are 100% satisfied with your design.

Why not order a design online?

Ordering online may appear to be the easier route, but how much can you really customize? And do you have one person to contact each time you have a question? Probably not. But with Tara's Designs, you have ME, and I am here and ready to respond to your inquiries every day!

Where are you located?

I am located in Omaha, Nebraska ... but don't let that stop you if you don't live here! I've designed for clients all over the United States. If we're not able to meet in person we can work via email and/or phone to swap ideas and come up with exactly what YOU want!

What wording should I use on wedding invitations?

This is one of the most asked questions and I have a blog post that covers many of the options for wording. But feel free to word them however you and your loved one feel comfortable and with something that fits your style of celebration.

What is the process for ordering from you?

We'll start with a consultation (It's FREE!): Let’s meet! I want to hear about the event from where it's being held, the style and colors you've chosen to work with, and the fonts you envision incorporating into your invitations and other paper goods! If we are meeting about wedding paper goods design, please plan to meet for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour as we will discuss all of the different pieces you can include in your wedding invitation suite (invite, details card, rsvp card, belly band, emblem card, pocket, etc.) as well as items for your wedding day (programs, table numbers, escort/place cards, menus, seating charts, signs, etc.).

Quote: After the initial consultation, I will provide you with a quote. There is no commitment to purchase anything quoted. Once you’ve made your decision to work with Tara’s Designs, you’ll be asked to sign a contract and pay a deposit (the design fees).

Client Portal: Once you sign a contract and pay your deposit you will be given access to your own online client portal. There, all of your contracts, invoices, questionnaires, and proofs will be stored so you can view them at any time without having to search your email for the documents. It’s basically your one-stop-shop for all things paper goods for your wedding!

Design: Once your contract is signed and deposit paid you will receive a questionnaire so I can gather all of the important details to guarantee accurate spelling and everything is in the order you want them to be listed on your pieces. I will create a design for you based on the information we discussed in the consultation. From there I’ll make the necessary (unlimited) changes until I create the PERFECT event paper goods for you.

Printing: I prefer to assist you with printing so I can guarantee the quality is on point with what you saw in my samples. But if you prefer to print on your own, I can provide you a PDF of the final file(s).

Payment: I currently accept payment via PayPal (bank account withdrawal or credit card - you can checkout as a guest), check, or cash.

Delivery/Shipping: If you are a local customer, I will be in touch when I have everything all packaged up and ready to deliver to you! If I am assembling and mailing your invitations for you we will meet up to get you the extra copies in case you add anyone to your guest list after the invitations are mailed. If you are not a local customer, shipping is available upon request for an additional fee. Shipping charges vary based on the size and weight of the box needed to ship your item(s) and will be added to the final invoice.

Assembly/Mailing: I do offer assembly and mailing services if you are not ready for a DIY project! If I will be mailing for you as well, this also includes purchasing stamps for you to guarantee the correct amount of postage is purchased.

Rush Fees: If you are in need of anything last minute, rush fees for design and printing will be applied. The fees vary depending on amount of time given to complete project(s) and amount of time spent finalizing the project(s).

How do you handle cancellations and refunds?

If I have already begun design on a project for you and the event is cancelled or you change your mind about working with me, I am unable to refund your money as I have already spent my valuable time on the project. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. All projects are custom-made for you, so please double check all spelling, punctuation, etc. on proofs prior to printing to avoid having any issues with the final printed product.

Who owns the rights to the files once you are done with the design?

All files designed by Tara's Designs are the property of Tara's Designs and are intended for personal use of the client and only in the capacity discussed. If you want to use a portion of any design for another project (i.e. - a monogram on your dance floor), you will incur additional fees. Any modifications or copying of designs by anyone besides Tara's Designs staff is strictly prohibited. Tara's Designs is allowed full ownership of all designs and reserves the right to use any digital or printed product for advertising and marketing purposes without the client's permission. Any design created by Tara's Designs can be used for other clients in the future.
